What is a Home Inspection?

A Home Inspection is a visual inspection of the structure, made by a qualified professional, who is trained and has experience in evaluating all the component features in a house, and who is able to give a clear and accurate picture of the condition of these components. It is important to remember that a Home Inspection is basically visual in nature, and not a specialized inspection. We are dedicated to providing you, the buyer with the peace of mind you need in making one of the largest investments ever, your Home.

How to Choose the "Right" Inspector...

First, choose a Home Inspector, who is qualified, licensed, insured, and an Inspector who has successfully passed the National Home Inspectors Examination (NHIE).  Further qualifications should include: An Inspector who has passed the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (NACHI) examination.  (Prior to 2004, the State of Alabama “Building Commission” did not require testing to obtain a State Home Inspectors License.) Choose an Inspector who works in the best interest of the buyer, but will not “Kill the Deal” with non-essential deficiencies.  A professional, who is educated, honest, experienced, and one who follows the “Standards and Ethics” policy, and one who is a Certified Inspector of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the oldest, most trusted Inspection organization in the United States!
